Big names line up for The npower Big Dribble

Some of hockey’s most famous faces are set to be joined by big names from the world of sport and TV at legs of The npower Big Dribble over the coming weeks.

GB hockey athletes, England’s national age group players and a host of former Olympians will be out and about at venues across the country to help promote hockey to the Great British public.

Great Britain and Scotland’s Vikki Bunce will get things up and running in Edinburgh and Glasgow next Sunday while her Great Britain teammate Sam Quek will be in Manchester and Liverpool on Wednesday 18 April.  In Birmingham, Great Britain and England goalkeeper James Fair (below) will team up with GB heroine Jane Sixsmith on Saturday 21 April.

Another hockey legend, Sean Kerly, will be at the Canterbury leg of The npower Big Dribble, dribbling his 100m and supporting WellChild, the official charity partner of the England Hockey and Great Britain Hockey.

In Loughborough, UK Sport Chair Baroness Sue Campbell will be dribbling her 100m and signing the giant hockey ball with Team GB Chef de Mission and Chief Executive Andy Hunt doing his bit in London’s Trafalgar Square alongside Jennie Price of Sport England.

Three times Olympian and 2000 Olympic gold medal winning rower Ben Hunt-Davis will also join The npower Big Dribble in London on 2 May while England netball star Tamsin Greenway will be at the Guildford leg on Friday 27 April alongside teammate Rachel Dunn.

With more names set to be announced in the coming days, make sure you take part in The npower Big Dribble this month.

It’s so easy to get involved:
• Just turn up, pick up a stick and dribble the fun 100 metre course
• Wish Great Britain’s hockey teams ‘good luck’ ahead of the Olympic Games by writing a message on our giant hockey ball
• Come along, meet us and speak to local hockey club members

Our team of dedicated Hockey Makers will be on hand to help. Your 100m dribble will be added to our nationwide totaliser and, when we reach 2012km, we've set the record!  You'll receive a certificate for taking part and your photo will appear in The npower Big Dribble gallery for you to share with friends and family.

Why not bring a non-playing friend along? The npower Big Dribble is all about giving those people who haven’t played hockey the chance to experience our fantastic sport.
