Flyerz Hockey Festival

Flyerz Hockey Logo

England Hockey will be hosting a free of charge Flyerz Hockey Festival in conjunction with the Unibet EuroHockey Championships.
We use the word ‘Flyerz’ instead of ‘disability’ because it is something people want to belong to. The event will be held at the Copper Box Arena on the 26th August and we would love for your club to be part of it!

This hockey event is fully inclusive and open to all who wish to attend (both young people and adults). It’s a great way to meet new people and to give hockey a go by joining in with our fun hockey activities. Individuals do not need to be part of a team or have played hockey before as our friendly volunteers will be on hand to get players started. There will be lots of room for spectators so players are able to bring friends and family along to join in the fun.

It promises to be a fun-filled day for Flyerz members from clubs across the country to come together for coaching and game play. But wait, there’s more. In addition to the Flyerz Festival, club volunteers and players will have the opportunity to see their favourite international hockey players in action at the Unibet EuroHockey Championships.

If you’re a club thinking of running Flyerz activity, we also hope the day will provide a great opportunity for club organisers and volunteers to share thoughts and ideas.

Take a look at the festival poster below and you can download a copy here to share it with your Flyerz members.

If your club are interested in attending or you have any questions please email bev.blackburn@englandhockey.co.uk. We are expecting demand to be high so places will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
