Alderley Edge made the women’s 2XI Cup final last year losing out in a nail biting shoot out against University of Nottingham; however they won the Investec women’s trophy two years ago at Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre.

The chairman of the club Graham Bryant said; ‘It’s fantastic news that we are ‘topping the league’ in terms of the number of Championships entered. We enter as many teams as possible across all age groups as this really is a fundamental part of our club ethos which is to be forward thinking, all-inclusive and to offer as many players as possible with the opportunity to play in appropriate level competitions as part of their ongoing development.

‘The new structure enables us to afford more players the opportunity of potentially reaching a Regional Final or a National Final at Lee Valley which, for many, is something they would be unlikely to otherwise achieve. We are a growing club and are lucky to have a healthy junior section, as well as several ladies and men’s teams so the new Championship structure genuinely enables us to offer equal opportunity to all.’

The England Hockey Championships are our new look knockout style national competition where we have introduced a tiered structure so your club can enter more than just your first team into a national final. This gives your team can enter have equal competitive matches and have a chance to reach a national final.

Deadline for team entries is September 17th so there is still time to enter your team into a competition. You can enter here.

Due to the extended deadline, please note that the scheduled round of matches on 17th September will no longer take place. The Adult Championships only will start on the second scheduled fixture date.
