Team of the Week
Your nominations from the weekend's action continue to fly in and here is your England Hockey Team of the Week. Thank you for all of your suggestions!

This week includes not only stunning hockey performances but also two players who helped save the life of an opposing player, a landmark achievement and the first individual to make a second appearance in the Team of the Week.

Goalkeeper:

Name: Katie Keppel
Club: Southend & Benfleet HC
Nomination: Katie was named ‘Player of the Match’ for the second week in a row as she made a string of fantastic saves to ensure her side drew 1-1 with East London.

Defence:

Name: Anna McCabe
Club: Kingsbridge & Salcombe HC
Nomination: A stellar performance from Anna that compromised of ‘an awesome display of tackling and distribution’ saw the right back named as ‘Player of the Match’.

Name: Chakeam Beagley
Club: Poole HC
Nomination: According to the his nominator Chakeam had a busy game at centre back, dominating the defence, playing with passion, scoring with a diving effort and helping to set up another with an aerial!

Name: Will Hann
Club: Wapping HC
Nomination: Alongside Liam Flynn (see below), Will – who is a doctor - saved the life of an opposition player who collapsed and went into cardiac arrest during the game by performing CPR and administering First Aid along with the ambulance service.

Midfield:

Name: Mariette Rix
Club: Ipswich HC
Nomination: Former South African Olympic goalkeeper Mariette made her outfield debut debut, scoring two goals – including one with a reverse stick shot – before she had to dash off at half-time.

Name: Holly Nuttall
Club: South Lakes HC
Nominator: Not only did the South Lakes captain score her first hat-trick of the season, she did so after taking a ball to the mouth before breaking her thumb at the end of the game. We hope it’s not too serious!

Name: Liam Flynn
Club: Wapping HC
Nomination: Alongside Will Hann (see above), Liam  – who is a doctor - saved the life of an opposition player who collapsed and went into cardiac arrest during the game by performing CPR and administering First Aid along with the ambulance service.

Attack:

Name: Ellie Watton
Club: Holcombe HC
Nomination: The England and Great Britain forward notched up her 100th National League goal this weekend, scoring for Holcombe in their game against Surbiton. Here’s to the next century!

Name: Alan Forsyth
Club: Surbiton HC
Nomination: Alan becomes the first player to appear in two Teams of the Week after netting four for Surbiton in their astonishing 5-4 win over Beeston on Sunday.

Name: Ben Wood
Club: Lewes HC
Nomination: Having coming through the Back To Hockey scheme two seasons ago, Ben moved up from the 5th XI to the 3rd XI this season and scored two ‘blinding’ goals while also setting up the third.

Name: Sean O’Kelly
Club: Lindum HC
Nomination: Having missed the last 18 months following knee surgery, Sean’s comeback could not have gone any better as he scored two goals for Lindum’s 4th XI this weekend. Welcome back Sean!
