TOTW Week 10

Name: Jonathan Tipler
Club: Timperley HC
Nomination: Despite being 60-years-old, Jonathan can often be found between the sticks for Timperley 6s and this weekend was crucial to a 4-0 victory, keeping his first clean sheet this millennium in the process!

Name: Katie Shaw
Club: Gillingham HC
Nomination: The right back was named ‘Player of the Match’ for her Dorset-based team after a game of ‘epic defending’ in which she also assisted a goal.

Name: Ian Berry
Club: Crawley HC
Nomination: Taking to the field with only 10 players on Saturday, Crawley Men’s 2s were indebted to Ian for being an ‘absolute wall’ and ensuring his team kept a clean sheet against the league leaders. Top effort Ian!

Name: Robyn Collins
Club: Surbiton HC
Nomination: With many of her club team-mates on international duty, Collins stepped up to the plate this weekend to score two goals and ensure her team not only avenged their previous loss to the Univeristy of Birmingham but finished the first part of the season top of the league.

Name: Jeevan Chagger
Club: Yardley HC
Nomination: Despite taking a nasty hit to the face before half-time, Jeevan continued to play the rest of the game for his side before heading to hospital to have his nose glued afterwards. We hope it’s not too badly damaged!

Name: Harriet Marsh
Club: Blueharts HC
Nomination: Blueharts 1st XI captain Harriet led to her side to a superb 10-1 win at the weekend, finding the net herself to bring up her 100th goal for the club. Congratulations!

Name: Michelle Mortimer-Collier
Club: Timperley HC
Nomination: Not only did Michelle play two games this weekend - scoring her first goal of the season on Saturday – she also coached the juniors on Sunday before helping out a man who had collapsed while walking his dog by getting a paramedic to the scene and then driving him home. A true club inspiration.

Name: Alex Humphreys
Club: Brooklands MU HC
Nomination: Two strikes in the final minute from Alex helped his team to a surprise 4-1 win over Beeston, knocking them off top spot Men’s Hockey League and ensuring Brooklands MU head into the winter break full of confidence.

Name: Lucy Whiting
Club: Harleston Magpies HC
Nomination: Lucy stole the show for the Harleston Magpies mixed team on Sunday as she scored four goals and was named ‘Player of the Match’ in their 13-1 win over Ely. Not a bad way to end the weekend!

Name: Mark Leary
Club: Stratford upon Avon HC
Nomination: Mark’s goal on Saturday was his first of the season and now means he has scored in 38 consecutive years of 1st XI hockey! What a fantastic achievement – we look forward to hearing how long this run continues for.

Name: Kallum Greenwood
Club: Leeds HC
Nomination: Kallum had the perfect all-round game this weekend as he scored two goals, assisted a further three and was named ‘Player of the Match’ in a 6-2 win.
