BBC Sport to show both League Finals matches

Surbiton's women's team celebrate

England Hockey are very pleased to announce that this Sunday’s finals of the Men’s Hockey League and Investec Women’s Hockey League will be shown live on the BBC Sport website, app and internet connected TVs.

BBC Sport are continuing to support hockey through their channels, having shown the Commonwealth Games, Sultan Azlan Shah trophy and Jaffa Super 6s so far in 2018.

England Hockey Communications Manager Craig Mortimer-Zhika said, “We are very pleased to offer more access to our sport through the BBC, continuing with this weekend’s League Finals. We are also very grateful for Investec’s continued support of our domestic women’s league and for helping to bring this coverage to life.”

Sunday 29 April schedule:
1:30pm: Men’s Hockey League Final; Hampstead & Westminster vs Surbiton
4pm: Investec Women’s Hockey League Final: Holcombe vs Surbiton

Sunday’s two matches start with Surbiton taking on Hampstead & Westminster in the Men’s Hockey League final at 1:30pm. Surbiton boast a large number of full internationals, including newly-crowned League player of the season Alan Forsyth, as well as England Commonwealth Games medal winners Harry Gibson, Brendan Creed, David Goodfield and James Gall. Hampstead & Westminster are the underdogs, having finished fourth in the league table, but with Kwan Browne in charge they will be aiming to upset the reigning champions at Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre.

In the women’s final, Surbiton take on Holcombe at 4pm, with Surbiton aiming for a fifth  straight Investec Women’s League title. Mark Pearn’s side boast three gold medal winners from Rio 2016, and a further four Commonwealth Games medalists from this year. They take on a Holcombe side who include a number of internationals, with five from Wales' Commonwealth Games 2018 squad; Rose Thomas, Jo Westwood, Sarah Jones, Beth Bingham and skipper Leah Wilkinson.
