2019 Schools Super 6s Champions To Be Crowned This Weekend

2018 Junior Schools Super 6s
The battle is on the be crowned the first national champions of 2019 as the Schools Super 6s Championships get underway today!

U16 and U18 teams from across the country will be facing against each other to be crowned this year’s champions.

Last season’s U18 Girls’ champions Cranleigh find themselves in Pool B this year after qualifying as regional winners from the south and will come up against Trent, Ilkley Grammar, Millfield and Framlingham, who they beat in last year’s final.

Pool A sees St. Lawrence come up against Repton, Ripon Grammar, Wellington and Kings Bruton.

There will definitely be a new winner in the U18 Boys’ category with last year’s victors St. Lawrence not appearing this year, meaning Oakham have a chance to go one better than their semi-final spot from 12 months ago.

They line up in Pool A alongside Ipswich, Manchester Grammar, Whitgift and Millfield while Bedford, Repton, Altrincham Grammar, St. George’s and Dean Close make up Pool B.

St. George’s U16 Girls are another with the chance to avenge losing in last year’s final as they qualified from the south region and will take on Bishop Stortford, Repton, Millfield and Queens, Chester in their group.

The other group in that event sees Bromley High, Malvern, The Grange, Cranleigh and Redmaids line up against each other in what promises to be an enthralling battle.

Finally Whitgift’s U16 Boys’ will be looking to defend their title from last year but they face stiff opposition from their pool in Ipswich, Trent, Yarm and Dean Close.

King Edward VI Southampton actually finished above Whitgift in the regional qualification though so expect them to be strong as they face Merchant Taylors, Repton, Sandbach and Millfield in their pool.

The U18 competitions are running from 11-12 Jan, with the U16s taking place from 12-13 Jan.

Both of the girls' events are happening at Bromsgrove School, while the boys are hosted by Whitgift.
