Your Chance to Question David Faulkner

In the first of a new series of Q&A features for England Hockey's quarterly magazine, EH News, we’re giving you the opportunity to become the interviewer as we invite members of the hockey family to put their  questions to David Faulkner, England Hockey Performance Director.

As Performance Director some of David’s areas of responsibility include:

• England and Great Britain Senior National Teams
• England National Age Group Squads
• GB Super League
• National Performance Centres

With England’s international teams in action at tournaments across the world this summer why not find out what David expects from our teams?  Or who he is most looking forward to seeing England play?

Some of those tournaments include the Women’s Champions Trophy in Sydney (England senior women), the European Championships in Amsterdam (England senior men and women), the Men’s and Women’s Junior World Cups (U21 level) in Singapore/Malaysia and Boston respectively, the boys’ and girls’ EuroHockey Youth Nations Championships (U18 level) in Belgium and the boys’ and girls’ U16 Home Nations in Scotland.

Add to these the Men’s Champions Trophy in November in Melbourne, the UK School Games in Wales in September and a large number of international Test matches and it’s a very busy year for England in international hockey.

As well as his responsibilities for England, David is Performance Director for Great Britain.  Perhaps you are interested in how he combines and separates the two roles?  Or, you might be interested to know how he feels the Framework Agreement between England, Scotland and Wales has worked so far?

After Great Britain’s strong showing at the 2008 Olympic Games David is sure to have strong views on the state of the sport in this country.  What does he think is working well and where would he like to see improvements?

This is a fantastic and rare opportunity to speak straight to one of the top executives in British sport.
