EHL Conferences Agreed for 2009-10

The formation of the England Hockey League Conferences has been agreed by the EHL Committee for season 2009-10.

The Conferences integrate the five Regional League qualifiers along with teams relegated from the Premier Division. This is balanced with teams either leaving the Conferences through promotion to the top flight or relegation back to the Regional Leagues.

The EHL Committee are mindful of not moving teams between Conferences unless the geographic spread of team dictates this. For the Men's Conferences in 2009-10 the new spread of teams was very similar to that in 2008-09 and no teams have changed Divisions.

In the Women's Conferences the spread has changed and it has necessitated three changes – Staines & Barnes Hounslow Ealing from East to West and Sutton Coldfield from West to North.
