16 Teams Fighting for Quarter Finals Place

Cup holders Reading will be out to avoid a revenge mission by Brooklands MU as the Men’s Cup reaches the fourth round stage with 16 sides battling it out for a place in the quarter finals.

Reading's Warren D'Souza celebrates scoring the 2nd goal during the national cup finals at Beeston HC, Beeston, Nottingham, 16th May 2009The tie of the round comes from Brooklands Sports Club as Brooklands MU entertain Reading in an all England Hockey League (EHL) Premier Division clash.  Reading beat Brooklands MU 6-2 in the league just two weeks ago and will hope for a similar result as they look to continue their quest to retain the Cup.

Brighton & Hove have established themselves as the giant killers in this season’s competition having already defeated EHL opposition on two occasions and they will look to make it a hat-trick as they welcome Hampstead & Westminster from the EHL Premier Division.  Olton & West Warwicks and Maidstone will also be looking to cause more upsets as they travel to Chelmsford and Doncaster respectively, while the University of Cambridge will have home advantage as they look to defeat EHL Conference East side Sevenoaks.

The University of Birmingham caused a big upset in the last round beating EHL Premier League side Cannock on penalty strokes and they travel to Belper looking for a place in the last eight.  Bowdon travel south to take on Old Loughtonians in a tricky tie with the Essex team currently sitting top of the EHL Conference East and Beeston host Fareham as they look to reach their third consecutive quarter finals.
