Tindall's Two Not Enough for Three Points

England had to settle for a share of the points from their second match at the ABN AMRO Champions Trophy in Melbourne after Spain netted late on through Eduard Tubau to clinch a 3-3 draw.

Earlier, England had gone into the half time break 3-2 up after both sides had held the lead in the first half; a Xavier Ribas double countered James Tindall’s early opener before Tindall and Middleton scored twice in two minutes to put England back in front.

Despite creating numerous opportunities to extend their lead in the second period England failed to hit the target again with Tubau scoring four minutes from time.

Once again the team referral system to query umpiring decisions was at the centre of a couple of incidents with Spain the main beneficiaries, seeing a first half penalty corner upgraded to a penalty stroke.
