Delivering in FE Colleges

Increasing delivery of hockey with Further Education or Higher Education Institutions is a key strategic aim for EHB, and we are pleased to provide a number of delivery options:

College or University Clubs

Traditional hockey delivery within Colleges and Universities takes the form of Clubs. These Clubs normally play 11-a-side matches against other local Colleges and Universities. Click here for more information on the Great Britain Coaching Club Programme which will provide coaches with up-to-date resources and content specific to the environment in which they are coaching.

Affiliation to the England Hockey is open to any College or University Club – please see the affiliation section of the website for further information.

Competitions

College and University teams often play in national, regional, county or local leagues.  To find out more about leagues in your area and their entry regulations please see the competitions section of the website.

British Colleges Sport (BCS) runs a range of hockey competitions for Colleges – for more information see www.britishcollegessport.org

British Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS) runs a range of hockey competitions for Universities – for more information see www.bucs.org.uk

Rush Hockey / Intramural Activity

England Hockey have developed Rush Hockey - a small sided game which can be played indoor or outdoor, and is suitable for intramural type competition as a way of engaging new players as well as retaining players that are not able to or wanting to commit to a 11 a side team.  For more information please go to www.rushhockey.co.uk

Club Community Links

As part of our Club Community links programme we are always keen to try and link local FE and HE Institutions to their nearest Hockey Club, to try and ensure sustainable and ongoing opportunities for players when they leave College or University.

High Performance
