HEAD COACH - Closing Date: Midday(UK Time) 3rd September 2018

Applications are now open for role of England & GB Hockey Women's Head Coach.

Reporting to the Performance Director, the Head Coach will be responsible for providing world class leadership and coaching to the national team. The Head Coach will be responsible for building on the recent success of the women’s programme and leading the programme to a place of systemic and consistent international success on the world stage. Most specifically, medal winning performances at world-level events and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

The senior team operates within a centralised programme at Bisham Abbey. The Head Coach is required to work closely with key performance staff, providing detailed planning for the programme to Tokyo and the following cycle.

FACILITIES RELATIONSHIP MANAGER - Closing Date: Tuesday 28th August 2018

England Hockey is recruiting for an experienced Facilities Relationship Manager to join their Clubs & Facilities team.

Working within a team of 3 Facilities Relationship Managers nationally, the role will support the implementation of the England Hockey Facilities Strategy by working with Clubs and other key stakeholders to ensure the appropriate provision of hockey facilities.

Covering the North region, the successful applicant will be responsible for providing technical, operational and financial advice to hockey clubs and hockey facility operators.  In addition the post-holder will support identified projects to work up a business and investment case for the build or replacement of facilities.

We are looking for individuals with previous relevant experience in sport facility development, knowledge of local authority planning processes and experience of working with volunteers.  If you have the relevant experience, strong interpersonal and management skills, the ability to influence, build and maintain relationships and are motivated to achieve results, we would love to hear from you.

BUSINESS PROJECT MANAGER - Closing Date: Tuesday 4th September 2018

England Hockey is recruiting for a Business Project Manager to support the Executive Team to deliver key business projects.  

The Business Project Manager will have responsibility for overseeing, developing and implementing priority corporate projects of strategic significance as directed by the Executive Team and the Board.  Reporting to the CEO, the post-holder will be responsible for collaborating with all levels across the business to ensure projects are delivered on time.  The Business Project Manager will be required to produce high-level written reports and prepare papers in addition to ensuring Executive and Board Meeting actions are captured and delivered on behalf of the Executive Team.

This is functional business role requiring extensive project management experience, exceptional communication, negotiating and influencing skills and confident presentation skills.  The successful applicant will have the relevant experience, but will also have excellent personal organisation skills, an exceptional sense of integrity and meticulous attention to detail.

The EIS, in partnership with Cardiff Metropolitan University and England Hockey is offering an exciting MSc Studentship opportunity to a dynamic, self-motivated individual committed to a career in Performance Analysis. Alongside their studies on the MSc Professional Practice (Sport Performance Analysis) postgraduate course, the successful candidate will engage in an industrial placement with England Hockey, spending time learning alongside EIS Performance Analysis practitioners within the World class programme. This studentship does not require attendance at Cardiff Metropolitan University.

The English Institute of Sport & England Hockey will provide full sponsorship of the course fees for the 2018/2019 academic year.

Studentship Placement Overview

  • Time: The MSc will be a full-time commitment and it is anticipated that the successful candidate will have a contact time equivalent of 4 days per week with England Hockey. It should be noted that the nature of the placement is likely to require attendance during evenings, at weekends and bank holidays 
  • Location: The candidate will be based predominantly out of Bisham National Sports Centre EIS, however the nature of the placement may require you to travel to other sites within the UK and potentially internationally. 
  • Duration: The studentship will start from September 2018 and last for a maximum of one year.
