Let's Stick Together

Lets stick together Page Header Iamge

Clubs members have been coming together over previous weeks to support, motivate and encourage each other to continue to stay as active as possible whilst we can’t play hockey! There are loads of fun and creative examples on our social media pages which can be found by clicking on 'Stick With Us' where you can see club members in action.

Here you can find lots of resources to help you during lock down. From Sport England's  #StayInWorkOut campaign, resources and guidance from Club Matters to online courses and exciting social media content.

The Club Engagement Journey

 In these challenging times it is more important than ever to stay in touch with your club membership.  This can be done in a number of ways, but the tools your members will be using more than most will be your social media channels and the club’s website.  So, here are a few tips on using these tools  effectively;

  1. Is your club website up to date?  Are all the club contact details correct, with contact numbers/emails where appropriate?  Does the website have active links to your social media channels and are they up to date too?
  2. Is the content of your social media current and relevant?  Is someone at the club responsible for content?  Do they need a hand to ensure something is going out regularly to members?
  3. Have you considered using your channels to host club events, such as a quiz or other social events?  Keeping in touch will demonstrate that you care about your members and when we do come back, we will come back stronger.
  4. Start thinking about what the club will do when the lockdown is lifted, and we do come back to the sport.  How are you going to ensure all members (and locals who might be interested in joining) are kept informed of plans?

 Finally, consider reaching out on a 1-2-1 basis to those members who may be struggling.  COVID-19 is having an impact on mental as well as physical wellbeing, we are one hockey family, let’s ensure we are all looking out for each other.
