England Hockey Youth Panel

The England Hockey Youth Panel gives a voice to youth hockey across the country.  Made up of members between 17 and 22 years-old, the Youth Panel drives youth hockey in England.

Rachael Crewesmith
Rachael Crewesmith - Chairperson...Age 21

Specialist Subject: Zone Hockey
Rachael first became involved in hockey at the age of 9 and currently regards her greatest hockey memory as beating Rugby School to reach the Midlands U18 Finals!  She is currently studying Archaeology at the University of Nottingham.   You can talk to Rachel about anything really as she’s very talkative, but if you want to know about Zone Hockey in particular, she’s your girl!

Abi Evans
Abi Evans - Vice Chairperson...Age 20

Abi has been playing hockey since the age of 11 and but has only recently got back on the pitch after being sidelined with injury.  She is currently training to be a paramedic with the London Ambulance Service and University of Hertfordshire. 

Kate Costin
Kate Costin...Age 23

Specialist Subject: Media & Marketing
Kate joined the Youth Panel at the start of this year and brings experience in Media and Marketing.  She has been playing hockey since she was just nine years old for Bedford Hockey Club.  Her finest moment in hockey was winning BUSA Gold in 2007.

Phillip Cox...Age 18

Philip has been on the Youth Panel since January 2007.  He has been playing hockey for eight years and plays for Coventry & North Warwickshire.  He captained his side in the U15 Plate Final in 2006 against Dunmow, a memory which will last a long time!  He is currently studying A levels in Chemistry, Biology, Maths and Music at Heart of England School in Balsall Common.

Lisa Eastlake
Lisa Eastlake...Age 18

Specialist Subject: Leadership
Lisa joined the Youth Panel in January 2008.  She has been playing hockey for six years and her favourite memory is Captaining Dorset Under 19s in 2007.  She took part in last year's festivals Young Leader Challenge and was awarded the Young Leader of the Year Award.  She is currently studying sport at Brunel University and playing in goal for their 1st XI.

Jenny Feaver
Jenny Feaver...Age 21

Specialist Subject: BUSA Hockey and Zone Hockey
Jenny has been on the Youth Panel since 2004 after taking part in the Young Leaders Award.  She graduated from the University of Leeds in the summer of 2008 and returned to Liverpool where she plays for Liverpool Sefton HC.  She has played hockey for eight years and having previously coached children at Liverpool Sefton she hopes to get a job as an outdoor instructor soon.

Becca Owen
Becca Owen...Age 21

Specialist Subject: Leadership
Becca has been on the Youth Panel since 2005.  In summer 2008 she graduated from the University of Wales Institute Cardiff (UWIC) with a degree in Sports Coaching.  Becca now works as a Sports Project Officer (hockey) for LIVING SPORT.  She has been playing hockey now for ten years and won the Young Leader Challenge at the Youth Festival in 2005.  Her greatest hockey memory is going to Canada to represent the England Hockey Youth Panel at the World Youth Promoters Festival in April 2008.

Ant Rapson
Ant Rapson...Age 21

Specialist Subject: Coaching
Ant joined the Youth Panel just this year.  He has been playing hockey since he was 9 years old for Oxted.  He is currently working as a hockey coach in Surrey so if there’s anything you want to know about the world of coaching, find Ant and ask him!

Harry Stickland
Harry Stickland...Age 19

Specialist Subject: Technical Officiating
Harry joined the Youth Panel in 2007 and brings with him a wealth of experience – even at such a young age – about Technical Officiating.  He retired from playing at just 16 to focus on Technical Officiating, Coaching and Umpiring at Taunton Vale Hockey Club.  Having been appointed to four international tournaments in the last two seasons Harry has decided to begin his umpiring career in the West as well as focus on developing young officials.

Rachel Williams...Age 17

Rachel joined the Youth Panel in 2007 and is the Vice Chair of the East Hockey Youth Panel.  She plays hockey for Letchworth Ladies as well as coaching and umpiring, so Rachel is a very busy lady!  Outside of hockey she volunteers to coach Cockernhoe football and netball teams as well as directing and assisting with direction of productions at Luton Sixth Form College where she is currently studying for A Levels in Law, English, PE and Drama.
