Are there any discounted membership fees?
EH would like the scheme to be accessible to everybody, and reduced fees apply as follows:
Silver Reduced fee: £25 Child under 18, Student in full-time education, Pensioner
Household Membership: Two or more individuals at the same address. First adult pays full required fee, then £15 discount to each additional full-paying adult member, £5 discount to each additional Reduced Fee member. All resident at the same household, one magazine to household.
Will there be a “kids” membership?
Children are welcome to join at a reduced fee, and there are many benefits of the scheme that they will enjoy. We now have an England Hockey Youth website eventually the membership scheme will be developed to run alongside this.
How does EH Membership compare to those of other sports?
EH membership is unique in many ways, offering you great value, and support for your club –
- Silver membership fees are lower than other supporter schemes such as cricket, football and rugby, and includes more benefits, such as EHTV
- As far as we know, EH is the only sport to offer a package specifically aimed at coaches and umpires, as we are keen to support them and help develop their hockey activity
- Your EH membership will count towards a Barrington Sports hockey voucher for your club
- EH is committed to re-investing membership fees into the scheme, to develop its supporter base and the profile of hockey
Will Platinum members be able to access the Gold benefits?
Yes. Platinum members are able to pay a top-up fee to access Gold benefits such as insurance.
Will Membership replace Club Affiliation?
No. Affiliation fees support the structure and development of hockey, and go towards everything from competitions, to courses and education, to safeguarding the game. Personal Membership gives individuals the benefits of being part of the hockey family – and recognising and encouraging their support.
I paid to be a Life member of the Centenary Club with the old EHA, will this be recognised in the new scheme?
Please contact us at membership@englandhockey.org so that we may give you details of how we would like to recognise the contribution of past Centenary members.
Can I pay by Direct Debit and get a discount?
We plan to offer payment by Direct Debit for renewing members in 2010/11, and there is likely to be a discount for this method of payment.
I currently have coach/umpire insurance with England Hockey, will I now have to take out EH membership and pay twice?
No. Individuals who hold our insurance and wish to join us as Gold members will be offered a discount on their membership fee (our Gold package includes a coaches’ and umpires’ insurance that is more comprehensive than the insurance we previously provided). Individuals who hold the insurance and do not wish to become members will have their insurance honoured until its expiry date, after which time we will no longer provide insurance as a “stand-alone” scheme. No individual will be out of pocket for their insurance, or be expected to pay twice for their cover.
