Emily Defroand

Defroand was there to see her heroes win bronze during the London 2012 Olympics at the Riverbank Arena and is now beginning her own journey in international hockey.

After making her debut early in 2017 she has gone on to represent England at the World League Finals and European Championships where the side won bronze.

A graduate of the University of Birmingham with a BSC and MSC she won the Hockey Writers’ Club Young Player of the Year award in 2012 and also won the Investec Women's Junior Performance Player of the Season in 2014-15.

 Currently playing for Surbiton, Defroand has won the BUCS League and Cup with Birmingham, won the bronze medal at the 2014 Euronations U21 Championships and also competed at the Australian Youth Olympic Festival in 2013.
