The FIH Hockey Pro League is the annual global League where the best men's and women's teams in the world go head-to-head with each other.
Having competed as Great Britain in the first two editions, England will take part in the league for the 2022 season. For more information on why this is the case and about the FIH Hockey Pro League, please see the section below.
The FIH Hockey Pro League is the annual global League involving the best men's and women's national teams in the world. The team that finishes top of the league at the end of the season is crowned champion and receives the FIH Hockey Pro League Trophy.
Each team will play against each opponent in the league twice in each season, playing 16 games in total. However, instead of playing one game home and away, the hosts are rotated on a bi-annual basis. So, for example, if England/Great Britain were playing The Netherlands, they would play two games against them at home in one season and two games away the following year.
It’s action-packed, international rivalries are at their fiercest and the season promises to be an exciting forerunner to the 2022 Commonwealth Games and World Cups. In short, it’s hockey at its best.
The 2021/2022 season will see the following nations competing in the FIH Hockey Pro League:
- Men: Argentina, Australia, Belgium, England, Germany, India, Netherlands, New Zealand, Spain
