One of the finest players of his generation, Adam was appointed as captain of England and Great Britain in 2019 and will hope to lead the latter to a first Olympic medal since Seoul ’88 when the team head to the Olympics in summer 2021.

A consistent performer, he has already guided Great Britain to some impressive results against some esteemed opponents as well as helping them qualify for the Tokyo Olympics.

Adam is only one of two members (the other being Ashley Jackson) of the team that famously won European gold with England in 2009 still playing internationally and has played in nearly every major tournament since, including three World Cups and the 2016 Olympics.

While he may be extremely reliable on the pitch, it can be claimed Adam is less so off it. As an usher at George Pinner’s wedding, he didn’t turn up to the suit fitting and was nearly late to the ceremony itself!
