Player Profile
There isn’t much to write about Ashley that hasn’t been said many times before.
One of the finest players this country has ever produced, he is currently the record goalscorer for England and Great Britain with many of his 130+ goals coming courtesy of his exceptional drag flicking abilities.
Since making his debut in 2007, Ashley has played at three Olympic Games, two World Cups and won European gold in 2009. He was also the first Englishman to be named the FIH World Young Player of the Year in 2007 before being named in the FIH World All Stars XI in 2009 and 2010.
A well-travelled player – having played in The Netherlands and India – he took a break from international hockey after Rio 2016 before returning three years later having had a stint playing ice hockey for Basingstoke Bison.
