A fine defender with fantastic distribution, Brendan has fast become a mainstay in the backlines for England and Great Britain since his international debut in 2017.
He also experienced plenty of success in his England career, winning European and Commonwealth bronze medals as well as helping them to a silver medal at the 2018 Azlan Shah Cup.
Unfortunately Brendan sustained a serious knee injury in late 2019 but he fought back brilliantly. That led to his selection for the Great Britain team at the Tokyo Olympics, where he played a vital role as the team finished fifth, their joint-best result at an overseas Games since 1988.
