A pacy, skilful and dependable midfielder, Sarah Evans (nee Haycroft) has gone from strength to strength as an international player since making her debut in 2013.

An ever-present in both the England and Great Britain sides over the last few years, Sarah was influential in helping the former secure bronze medals at the 2017 Euros and 2018 Commonwealth Games and was one of the star performers at the 2018 Vitality Hockey Women’s World Cup. A regular member of the squad during the 2019 and 2020/21 FIH Hockey Pro League campaigns, she scored three times for England at the 2021 Euros and was a reserve during the 2020 Olympics.

Sarah is also the captain of the indomitable Surbiton team that has won the Women's Hockey League seven years in a row and provides plenty of flair going forward and robustness in defence at all times.

Sarah announced her retirement from international hockey in October 2021.
