TOTW 2018/19 Round 17

Goalkeeper

Name: Angahard Jenkins
Club: Trojans HC
Nomination: AJ had a brilliant match against the league's second-placed team, saving not one but two strokes, with the latter happening in the final two minutes to secure the victory.

Defence

Name: Rachel Farrar
Club: Newcastle HC
Nomination: Another Newcastle player to make the list in recent weeks, this time it was Rachel who was her team's star by showing superb composure and calmness in a 3-1 win. Furthermore, she then drive for 90 minutes to umpire one of the men's teams in Stockton. Now that's commitment to the club!

Name: Leanne Hoskins
Club: Bournemouth HC
Nomination: Leanne certainly was her team's 'Wonder Woman' at the weekend as she produced a brilliant save on the line before racing up to other end to score a diving deflection and secure a draw in the final minutes.

Name: Emma Hempton
Club: Longridge HC
Nomination: Despite being 'four weeks off 50' (her nominator's words, not ours!) Emma continues to put in superb displays on a regular basis for her team. This weekend was no exception as she put in some huge tackles to secure a crucial draw in a top-of-the-table clash and was named Player of the Match.

Midfield

Name: Caro Kappes
Club: Old Silhillians HC
Nomination: Despite suffering three separate injuries during the game - a swollen hand, bloody face and damaged knee - Caro continued to run tirelessly throughout the game and set up the second goal in a 2-0 win.

Name: Jaimie Unsworth
Club: Isle of Wight HC
Nomination: Jaimie was the rock of her team in both their league and cup games at the weekend with her continuous running, strong tackling and great links through to attack. And all that after squeezing in a game of netball too!

Name: Simon Kristiansen
Club: North Shields HC
Nomination: Simon played his first game in more than 15 years at the weekend, not that anyone could tell though. He was up and down the pitch, putting in a huge shift, made some crucial tackles and grabbed two goals on his debut for the club. Welcome back Simon!

Attack

Name: Kieran Fuller
Club: Crawley HC
Nomination: Kieran bagged another sackful of goals at the weekend as he notched six in an impressive 10-0 win after having nine stitches in his finger after an accident at work earlier in the week. Furthermore, that takes his tally to a staggering 39 for the season so far!

Name: Reece Baker-Kiff
Club: Harpenden HC
Nomination: Another player with an injured finger, Reece scored all the goals in a crucial 4-2 win against their local and fellow promotion rivals. But rather than celebrate with his team-mates, he then went an umpired another game at the club, leading to his nominator describing him as a 'legend'.

Name: Ibby Omar
Club: City of Manchester HC
Nomination: He may have been the youngest player on the pitch at the weekend but Ibby was also the most influential, sparking an impressive comeback from 3-2 down to an 8-4 victory with two goals and two assists. He then helped Bowdon U16s reach the National Finals the very next day.

Name: Rachel Earnshaw
Club: Lancaster Nomads HC
Nomination: It's incredible how someone's fortunes can change across the course of a season. At the start of the current one, Rachel thought she wasn't good enough for her club's first team. But this weekend she scored a hat-trick to secure the 1st XI promotion and proved to everyone that she really does deserve to play at that level.
