The Commonwealth Games – 24 July - 3 August 2014

The Commonwealth Games take place every four years, and next year it’s the turn of Glasgow to host the 20th meeting of the Commonwealth of Nations. From the 23rd August 2014, 71 teams take part in two weeks of top level sport, making the Commonwealth Games one of the largest multi-sport events in the world – with the Olympics taking the top spot. If you’d like to read more about the team delivering the games next year, head to the Glasgow 2014 website where you can find information on every sport and venue, as well as information on the team’s mission and how to apply for tickets.

The Hockey events will take place at the new Glasgow National Hockey Centre, starting on the 24 July and finishing on the 3 August. 10 nations will be participating in each of the Men’s and Women’s Hockey competitions at Glasgow 2014. In the preliminary rounds, teams will be split into two pools of five. The top two teams in each pool will progress to play off for the medals.

EuroHockey Championships London 2015

In March 2012 we announced that we had been successful with our bid to host the 2015 EuroHockey Championships in London. This will be the first major event on Olympic Park after the Olympic Games and provides a home advantage for our teams in the first qualifying tournament for the Rio Olympic Games. With the support of UK Sport, the London Mayor’s Office and Lee Valley Regional Park Authority, the 9 day event in August 2015 promises to be a great opportunity to unite the public behind the national team, get more people watching world-class hockey and inspire new people to pick up a stick.
