Get Back to Hockey like the Duchess

The Duchess of Cambridge yesterday picked up a hockey stick for the first time since playing hockey at school and admitted she was worried about it.  However, as she struck a shot at goal she showed you never lose it.

Have you ever thought about taking up hockey again? Then, Back to Hockey is perfect.

Before taking to the pitch, the Duchess admitted to being nervous, saying, "I was really looking forward to coming here but now I am here and have discovered I have to play, I am not feeling so confident.

Duchess of Cambridge visits Olympic Park"This is going to be so embarrassing. My brain thinks I can do all these wonderful things but my body just doesn't play ball."

But her lack of confidence was soon dispelled as everything she learnt as school came flooding back.

"The last time I played was 2005, maybe. It feels like I haven't held a stick for 10 years," said Her Royal Highness.

You might not find the Duchess at your nearest Back to Hockey session any time soon (her grueling schedule is something of an obstacle) but you will find likeminded women looking to get back into a sport they used to enjoy.

It's a great way for women to exercise as part of a team with a focus on fun, fitness and friendship.  The relaxed sessions provide a gentle introduction or re-introduction to hockey. It's open to all women, whether you’ve played before or not.

What's more...you don't need to join a team or commit to 'training'.  It's all about getting together through hockey and enjoying yourself.

With sessions running nationwide there's one near you.
