Since 2018, Individuals from Umpiring Associations, National Programme Umpiring Association (NPUA), Technical Appointing Panel (TAP) and England Hockey have been working in collaboration to develop a unified vision for Officiating and we are delighted to announce the upcoming launch of the EHO.
The EHO is a single membership body designed for anyone involved in Officiating, at every level of the game. The vision of the EHO is to provide a unified approach to support and develop all members across the game via a Nationally Led, Locally Delivered organisation.
As an umpire, someone who mentors / coaches / assesses umpires or technical official, we are simplifying the approach to membership across the country, so instead of being a member of multiple organisations, you will become a member of one and have an Area Officiating Committee to support you with all your needs.
Our aim is to have a membership offer attractive for everyone, so we have carefully crafted our membership categories so it caters to everyone’s needs.
These membership categories range from a Free option to paid options.
An overview of what is available per level of membership is available below:
We are now inviting individuals to become a member of the EHO through the Game Management System.

Membership is now available to be taken for the EHO by enrolling via the membership portal. This can be accessed by clicking here.
Area Officiating Committees will be in touch with you regularly throughout the season with upcoming development sessions & member meetings, plus opportunities for you to officiate in local competitions.
You will also receive information of the Annual Area Officiating Committee General Meeting relevant to you, as well as the EHO Annual General Meeting, that will be held Annually in August.
We look forward to an exciting new club that is run by Officials, for Officiating at all levels and to support you in your Officiating.
