Why Hockey is a Great Sport to Teach

Schools are a key delivery partner for hockey, and where many people play the sport for the first time. England Hockey has produced a range of adapted formats and equipment, along with support materials and guidance to support and encourage the delivery of hockey in schools at all levels. 

But why should you deliver hockey?

• Hockey is enjoyable for players of any age, gender or ability
• It develops physical, social and mental wellbeing
• Boys and girls can play together, and everyone tends to start at the same level
• It is a fun, fast, safe and exciting team sport
• It can be played on a variety of surfaces – it doesn’t always need to be a hockey pitch.
• Everyone has a stick and is involved the whole time.
