Investec Women's Hockey League 2012/13

Surbiton celebrate at the Investec Women's Finals Weekend 2012
Following the conclusion of the promotion and relegation tournaments in April, the Investec Women’s Hockey League divisions for the forthcoming season 2012/13 have been announced.

Slough retained their Investec Women’s Premier Division status following a successful campaign in the promotion tournament at the Investec Women’s Finals Weekend.  They will be joined by Surbiton from Investec Women’s Conference East.  Surbiton (below), the Conference East champions, finished second in the promotion tournament and qualified for next season’s Premier Division courtesy of a superior goal difference over Buckingham from Investec Women’s Conference West.

Beeston will again compete in Investec Women’s Conference North after they finished bottom of the promotion tournament.  Joining Beeston in Conference North are Cannock, relegated after finishing tenth in last season’s Premier Division, and Ben Rhydding, promoted from the North regional league for the first time since relegation in the 2008/09 season.

Wimbledon’s absence from national league hockey ran to five seasons having last competed in the 2006-07 season.

Taunton Vale’s exile from the Investec Women’s Hockey League was a season shorter than Wimbledon’s; they were relegated from the old National South Division at the end of the 2007-08 and return to Investec Women’s Conference West for the new season.  Buckingham, who missed out on an Investec Women’s Premier Division place in the narrowest of circumstances, will once against compete in Conference West, joined by Taunton Vale and the Midlands’ regional qualifier Stourport.
