Young hockey players take the stage

The In2Hockey finals take place at Cannock HC. In2Hockey is the 7-a-side version of the game played on a half pitch. The Schools U13 finals are held on Friday 10 May. Cranleigh Prep return to defend the Girls title but last year's Boys winners Queens Taunton did not qualify from the West round.

On Saturday it is the turn of the Clubs at U12 level and both of last season's winners Team Bath Buccaneers Boys and Surbiton Girls return to defend their crown.

The finals of the Boys and Girls U14 Club Championships take place at Highfields Sports Club, home to Beeston Hockey Club.  Each tournament takes place over one day with the boys on Saturday and the girls on Sunday.  The teams will play in a round robin format with pool winners playing in the final.

This is the first year of national finals in this competition so clubs are vying to be the first on the roll of honour.  Two clubs, Wycombe and Surbiton, have representation in both the Boys and the Girls side of the competition, both of which have taken national titles at older age groups over the last few years.  There are a number of clubs who consistently qualify for junior competition finals but it is also good to see some new faces on the national stage too.
