National U14 Club Championships

Surbiton U14s lift the trophy in 2014.

This weekend is the conclusion of the Junior Competitions with the National U14 Club Championships taking place at Lee Valley Hockey & Tennis Centre.

The boys are first to take centre stage as the country's eight best teams meet on Saturday, with Guildford returning to defend the trophy they won last year at Wakefield Hockey Club. Surbiton make their third successive appearance at the finals and they will be hoping to get their hands on the trophy as they did in 2013 when the competition first concluded with a National Final. Havant and Phoenix Blue Hornets were also present that year and will be looking to build on their experience, with Bournemouth, Bowdon, Lichfield and Beeston make their first National Final at the Boys' U14 age group.

Attention Sunday turns to the girls' competition, and like Guildford, Surbiton will be out to defend their title and ensure the trophy remains in Surrey as it has done the previous two seasons. There are some new teams getting their first taste of a National Final at this age group, with Ben Rhydding, Isca, Norwich City and Yeovil & Sherborne going for glory. Cambridge City, City of York and Old Loughtonians make up the eight girls finalists as they all return to the National Finals for a second time.

If you are heading along to support this weekend, tickets can be purchased in advance here. Tickets are just £4 for Adults and £2 for U18s when purchased before midnight on Friday. There is a £2 increase for tickets purchased on the day.

Participating teams have been allocated with 15 car park passes, but there will be no other parking available on site. Click here for more information on ‘How to get to Lee Valley’ which includes other parking areas available.
