FIH World Rankings updated

Schedule Announced
The FIH have released their latest world rankings following the completion of the Hockey World League Finals with both England’s men and women retaining their standings.

England’s women remain the second best team in the world behind the Netherlands while the men sit in seventh.

In the women’s rankings New Zealand’s silver medal at the World League Finals has seen them leapfrog rivals Australia, moving from fifth into fourth. This adds extra spice to the Trans-Tasman rivalry ahead of their clash in Pool D at the Vitality Hockey Women’s World Cup in London next summer.

Korea’s impressively won bronze in Auckland and although this hasn’t seen them climb the rankings just yet they have closed the gap considerably on China in eighth. With the sides meeting in Pool A this match will no doubt be a close and entertaining contest.

In the men’s rankings the big news sees Australia beat Argentina in the World League Final and this has seen then jump above the Olympic champions into top spot.
