Team of the Week
Nominations have again come in from up and down the country in the club world from teams in the north, south, east and west!

Every weekend teams can nominate their standout performers from all levels of the game for England Hockey's Team of the Week.

Make sure you nominate your team-mates each week by replying to our Team of the Week posts on Twitter and Facebook!

Goalkeeper:

Name: Kiera Cripps-Thomson
Club: Gosport Borough Hockey Club
Nomination: Kiera is just 18 years old and a determined young lady who has come so far and has far to go! This weekend, in horrendous conditions, she saw off no less than nine chances on goal by the opposition. Kiera continuosly shouted orders at her defenders who together worked to keep a clean sheet and earn their first point of the season.

Defence:

Name: Dewi Till
Club: Torbay Hockey Club
Nomination: At just 14 years of age Dewi claimed his second man of the match award of the season playing senior men’s hockey. He played out of his usual position going to left back and did not miss one tackle. Superb distribution and running number one for short corners!

Name: Sam Mairs
Club: Bowdon Hightown
Nomination: Sam was an absolute colossus at the heart of the defence and set up many attacks for their Bowdon side.

Name: Freya Murgatroyd
Club: Kingsbridge & Salcombe
Nomination: New to the team this season and having only just turned 14, Freya had an excellent game, putting in brave tackles and distributing the ball very well!

Midfield:

Name: Ben Scholes
Club: Spalding HC
Nomination: At 16 Ben is now controlling games and causes the opposition problems with the way he attacks at pace. He scored a hat trick on Saturday and has now scored in the last 6 league matches.

Name: Steven Oliver
Club: South Lakes HC
Nominaiton: Steven scored six goals out of nine and was unsurprisingly named player of the match for South Lakes.

Name: Simon Jones
Club: Whitley Bay and Tynemouth
Nomination: Simon was in top goal scoring form and found the net six times from attacking midfield to help his side to a big 9-2 victory!

Attack:

Name: Steph Bedford
Club: Pendle Forest
Nomination: Steph netted a hat-trick at the weekend including a spectacular overhead volley facing away from goal! Nice work Steph!

Name: Jay Livermore
Club: Blue Harts
Nomination: Jay scored her 100th goal with a show-stopping penalty corner drag flick on Saturday helping her side remain undefeated and win 2-1. Jay is one of the most modest forwards and does so much volunteering for the club. An #inspiration!

Name: Joe Robinson
Club: Barnes 1st XI
Nomination: Joe has now scored eight goals in two games after bagging all four goals in a 4-3 win including a hat-trick in the last 10 minutes of the game to turn a 3-1 deficit into a 4-3 win!

Name: Hugh Woodward
Club: Westbury & United Banks HC
Nomination: Hugh scored a hat-trick to earn the 4th XI their first win of the season. With the score 0-0 at halftime and the game in the balance, Hugh played an exceptional game running a high line and using his pace on the counter!
