Team of the Week
Nominations have again come in from up and down the country in the club world from teams in the north, south, east and west!

Every weekend teams can nominate their standout performers from all levels of the game for England Hockey's Team of the Week.

This week's XI includes two quadruple hat-tricks, defenders stepping in for their goalkeeper's and some memorable debuts.

Make sure you nominate your team-mates each week by replying to our Team of the Week posts on Twitter and Facebook!

TOTW 2018/19 Round 11

Goalkeeper

Name: Megan Duffield
Club: Norton HC
Nomination: A clean sheet, saving a penalty flick and being named Player of the Match – not a bad day’s work for Megan!

Defence

Name: Ruby Varney
Club: Kingsbridge & Salcombe HC
Nomination: Playing in her first ever game, 14-year-old Ruby showed incredibly energy and determination to help her side to a 3-2 win despite only having 10 players. Furthermore, she was also named Player of the Match for her efforts. What a debut!

Name: Emma Beaney
Club: Surbiton HC
Nomination: Emma makes her second TOTW appearance for once again stepping up to the plate when needed, playing as a kicking back for the early stages of their game while their ‘keeper was stuck in traffic.

Name: Jez Bulled
Club: City of Portsmouth HC
Nomination: Another centre back stepping up to fill their ‘keeper’s shoes, Jez pulled the pads on after his team’s shot stopper received a yellow card and immediately saved the resultant flick. Superb effort!

Midfield

Name: Andrew Wilson
Club: Urmston HC
Nomination: With his club trailing 4-3 with just four minutes remaining, Andrew stepped up and smashed home two corners to win the game and keep his team top of the table.

Name: Louisa Hall
Club: Leek HC
Nomination: Louisa was a key reason behind Leek’s 1-0 win at the weekend, commanding the pitch and showing fantastic maturity, apparently taming her county coach in the process.

Name: Tom Woollatt
Club: Nottingham Trent University HC
Nomination: After eight unsuccessful nominations this season (apparently!), Tom makes this week’s XI after a stunning hat-trick all scored from the baseline.

Attack

Name: Charlotte Rye
Club: Cambridge City HC
Nomination: 13-year-old Charlotte certainly made an impression in her L5s debut this weekend, scoring a fantastic double hat-trick in a 10-1 win and continues to impress everyone at the club with her fantastic attitude.

Name: Charlie Cooper
Club: Bournemouth HC
Nomination: Charlie was the standout performer in his side’s 5-2 win, scoring four in the game to take his season total to nine in ten games.

Name: Esme Piccolo
Club: Bedford Modern School
Nomination: An incredible goalscoring feat as Esme notched 12 of the 13 girls her side put past their opponents. Her nominator thought this would be tough for anyone else to better and normally we would agree. However…

Name: Lily Lewin
Club: University of York HC
Nomination: Not a hat-trick, not a double hat-trick, not even a triple hat-trick but a quadruple hat-trick (plus one) for Lily as she netted 13 (yes, 13!) times in a frankly unbelievable 46-0 victory.
