Howzat! Hockey Stars Pad Up

This Bank Holiday Weekend, a group of England Hockey stars will swap their sticks for bats as they turn out in a celebratory cricket match against Hawridge and Cholesbury CC on August Bank Holiday.

The game is being played to celebrate the Hawridge and Cholesbury CC 125th anniversary and thanks to the generous support of local estate agents The Frost Partnership, it will be known as The Frost Partnership Cricket Challenge.

The Frost Partnership have provided a trophy so there's something to really play for and will be funding the all important match teas!

The match starts at 1.30pm on Bank Holiday Monday (30th August) with 40 overs each side.  Interested spectators are being encouraged to make their way to Hawridge and Cholesbury CC near Chesham in Buckinghamshire for an afternoon's entertainment.  As well as the cricketing prowess on show, there will be a barbecue, Twenty20-style commentary on the PA system and a couple of presenations.

Hockey TV will be there to cover the match so if you can't make it, check out the 'highlights' at http://fieldhockeytv.com

The England Hockey has been warned that the local team's side is 'fairly strong'! So the strongest side England Hockey can muster has been 'called up' - see below.  Hawridge and Cholesbury should watch out though; one of England & Great Britain forward James Tindall's claims to fame is that he once played against the West Indies' U19s!
