Iceni Water becomes Official Water Partner

English natural mineral water, Iceni Water, has embarked on a new relationship with Hockey to become the ‘Official Water Partner’ for the GB & England Hockey teams in the run up to the 2012 Olympics.

The association sees Iceni, which is bottled and sourced in Cambridgeshire, become the sole water provider to the GB & England teams over the next two years, supporting at major hockey events leading up to the London 2012 Games.

Commenting on the sponsorship Brett Fleming-Jones, managing director of Iceni Water, says: “We are delighted that Iceni has been selected by GB & England Hockey to be the ‘Official Water Partner’ which features our nation’s Olympic representatives.  We believe the Iceni brand to be the perfect fit for this energetic, dynamic sport.”
He continues:  “Staying properly hydrated by drinking water during exercise is key to achieving optimum levels of performance.  As such, Iceni has always had a strong link with sporting activity and has been the water of choice for many top players.”

Dehydration can make you tired and dizzy and lead to muscle cramps.  The recommendation from the Food Standards Agency is that when exercising you should drink up to one litre of water per hour of exercise (on top of the standard one to two litres per day).
The GB & England Hockey team take their physical fitness and wellbeing very seriously and Iceni will ensure that Great Britain’s elite hockey players maintain the right amount of water intake throughout their busy training and competition schedule.
