The Maxinutrition Hockey 5s Championships is the new name for England Hockey’s national indoor league in 2013-14. Of course, that's not the only change to the indoor game with the International Hockey Federation changing the rules during the summer to make the game 5-a-side instead of 6.

The 2013-14 league season officially kicks off on 14-15 December, though this weekend (7-8 December) sees the conclusion of the Men’s and Women’s Division Two for 2012-13. Matches in these Divisions were scheduled for January 2013 but had to be postponed due to bad weather - with only a limited indoor season clubs agreed to hold the fixtures over until this December, and the Divisions will play to the new rules for this season.

There are six teams in Division Two and the top two qualify for Division One which takes place on the 4-5 & 11-12 January 2014. The other four teams have an early chance to do likewise for 2015 when they play in Division Two North & South, also on 4-5 January along with regional qualifiers.

The Maxinutrition Hockey 5s Men’s Division Two will be played at University of West of England and features Cannock, Chelmsford, Cheltenham, Preston, Team Bath Buccaneers and West Herts.

The Maxinutrition Hockey 5s Women’s Division Two will be played at Lilleshall National Sports Centre and features Buckingham, Chelmsford, Gloucester City, Ipswich, St Albans, Stourport.

The Maxinutrition Hockey 5s Premier Divisions will be held next weekend (14-15 December) - the Women will play at Bromsgrove School and the Men at Cocks Moor Woods Leisure Centre. The men’s league has been subject to a late change of venue due to the original venue, St Georges Park, no longer being available, although it will be used for the second weekend on 4-5 January.

The England Hockey indoor floor will be installed at both Men’s Premier Division venues, and the deciding matches of the Premier Divisions will be played at Wembley Arena at the Maxinutrition Hockey 5s Finals
