Advance transport notice for Ride London on Sunday 29 July

Ride London at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park

Ride London takes place on Sunday 29 July and will have a significant impact on transport and roads throughout London.

This is one of the UK's biggest cycling events on a similar scale to the London Marathon. 30,000 cyclists will depart from the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park very early on Sunday morning, and there will be significant road closures into the afternoon.

Therefore we strongly recommend spectators attending on 29 July to:
• Wherever possible take the Tube or overground trains to Stratford or Stratford International, then follow the Vitality Mile

• Leave as much time as possible for your journey.

• Don't drive or use buses.

• Allow extra time for your journey because the Tube and overground will both be busier than normal. Don't forget a bottle of water too in the current weather conditions.

• If you absolutely must drive, go to a Tube or overground hub not affected by road closures.

• Don't park at Westfield Stratford or Stratford International because it will be exceptionally busy in the vicinity due to Ride London.

• Note that accessible and event shuttles run from 14.00 onwards on Sunday. If you require assistance earlier than that, email transport@englandhockey.co.uk and we will advise

• For details of road closures and more info, see Transport for London's dedicated Ride London page at https://tfl.gov.uk/status-updates/major-works-and-events/ridelondon
