Senior Finalists

Following Semi Final matches this weekend, the finalists are now known for the majority of the Senior Finals over the next few weeks.

Bowdon Hightown's Nicky O'Donnell is challenged by Royal Uccle's Laure Van Tuyckom during their European Cup winners cup match at Bowdon Hockey Club, 10th Aprill 2009In the Women’s Cup, two second half goals were enough to ensure that 2009 champions Bowdon Hightown made it through with a 2-0 win over University of Birmingham. They will play EHL Conference East side Surbiton who defeated Sutton Coldfield 3-2, who had Emma Rowland-Jones score a brace. The Men’s & Women’s Cup Finals will be held at Cannock HC on Saturday 14th May.

1500 – Women’s Cup Final: Surbiton v Bowdon Hightown 
1730 – Men’s Cup Final: Doncaster v Beeston 

Rob Frampton scored twice for his West Hampstead, which included an all important Golden Goal as they made it through to the Men’s Trophy Final with a 4-3 victory as Ashford (Kent). They will play Tulse Hill & Dulwich after they beat Burton 5-3, Joe Lyes made sure of the victory with his second of the match five minutes from time. Tulse Hill & Dulwich will also be in attendance in the Women’s Trophy Final after a Ciara O’Brien goal in the last minute secured 3-2 win over Teign. Wimbledon will be their opposition after they also had a close match, beating North Stafford 3-2 thanks to a Jane Clarke Golden Goal. Tulse Hill & Dulwich and Wimbledon will be no strangers to each other as they both compete in the South Women’s Division Two. 

Kent side Burnt Ash (Bexley) will have a short trip to the final after they made it through with a 4-2 victory away to Chippenham in the Men’s Vase. They will play Tameside who won the all NW Division One battle with a narrow 3-2 victory against Bebington thanks to an Andrew Wareham brace. In the Women’s Vase, Guernsey will play Alderley Edge in the Final after a goal in each half was enough to beat 2010 Runners Up Worthing. Alderley Edge secured a comfortable 5-1 victory away at Vikings with Renata Matjusaityta and Katie Austin scoring two apiece. The Men’s & Women’s Trophy/Vase Finals will be held at Tonbridge School on Saturday 16 April.

1215 – Women’s Trophy Final: Tulse Hill & Dulwich v Wimbledon 
1430 – Men’s Trophy Final: Tulse Hill & Dulwich v West Hampstead  
1645 – Men’s Vase Final: Tameside v Burnt Ash (Bexley)

Also at Tonbridge School that weekend will be the Masters Finals on Sunday 17 April. Yesterday, Ipswich defeated Belper 4-1 and Stourport won at home 4-2 against Bishops Stortford to set up the Men’s Masters Over 40’s Cup Final. In the Plate, City of Peterborough will play Worcester in the Final. The schedule for the Masters Finals day can be seen below.
