Tina Cullen helped herself to a hat-trick in a 5-2 win against Reading and in a top of the table clash, Cullen was on target again as Bowdon defeated Slough 3-1.

A four-goal haul from captain Vicky Woolford saw Sutton Coalfield cruise to a 5-1 win over Reading - another team that ended the weekend without a point.

Harleston Magpies faced second-placed Slough in their first game of the day and although they had the best start possible when Angie Wheelhouse tucked in a field goal after just two minutes, goals from Alex Scott and Harriet Cunningham put Slough in the lead by half time.

When the teams re-emerged for the second half, Alex Scott completed her hat-trick to put the tie beyond doubt.

Canterbury came next for Harleston and goals from Lucy Hyams, Susie Rowe and Mel Clowlow meant that a 5-0 defeat will be the Magpies last memory of this weekend.

Elsewhere in the league, Sutton Coldfield are in third place and level on points with Slough, and Vicky Woolford is leading by example.

She scored another three goals in their encounter with Trojans. Team mate Jenny Parkinson also weighed in with a hat-trick of her own to see Trojans off 6-3.

Leicester scored heavily this weekend but also conceded, Susie Rowe hit three past them in a 5-5 draw with Canterbury and although they let three in against Clifton goals from Vanessa Hawkins, Hannah Smith, Lauren Turner and Lucy Brown provided enough firepower to record a 4-3 win.

With Clifton, Reading and Trojans all on three points, they will be hoping to make sure that they don’t get cast adrift with next weekend’s fixtures whilst at the top of the table Slough and Sutton Coldfield will be looking to put a dent in the three-point lead that Bowdon have opened up early on.

In fourth place, Canterbury have the tightest defence in the league so far and will be looking to build on their seven points.
