The first half of the game was a close affair with both sides getting chances but neither side being able to take advantage of their build up play.  Great Britain had strong phases where they piled on the pressure but could just not convert the opportunities that came their way.  The score remained 0-0 at half-time.

After the break Great Britain started the brighter side and it only took two minutes for the first goal to arrive.  Great Britain were awarded a penalty corner which came out to Kate Walsh who picked out Loughborough Student’s Laura Unsworth in the circle who fired the ball home to make it 1-0 and score her first GB goal.   Following this, it took just four more minutes to make it 2-0 to Great Britain as Reading’s Helen Richardson finished off a move which had involved nearly the whole team with some great build up work.
