BBC Sports Personality Awards - Unsung Hero 2013

BBC Get Inspired Logo

For 10 years, the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Awards have recognised the remarkable achievements of people from all across the UK, and the Unsung Hero category allows YOU to nominate someone you know who you think has made a great contribution to sport.

So far there have been 150 Unsung Heroes who have received an award from the BBC, and the time has rolled around again to add some more Heroes to that list. Do you know someone who has worked tirelessly to improve their club or team, or has inspired you or others in hockey? You can make your nomination by filling in the nomination form and sending it off to the sportsunsunghero@bbc.co.uk, or you can go to the BBC Unsung Hero page and download the form from there. Applications opened on the 29th August, and the closing date has now been extended to Wednesday 16 October, so you still have some time to get your form in – don’t leave it too late!

We want to know your stories too...

Once you’ve made your entry to the BBC, we’d love to hear who you’ve nominated and why. While we have our own England Hockey Awards, that’s only one chance in a year to let us know about who you think has really added value to the hockey community and we’d like to hear more. You can send your filled-in form to info@englandhockey.co.uk, and then we can let people know about the great contributions that you and others make to sport and hockey!
