Futures Cup Day 2

Futures Cup 2013 Girls YB

The Pennine Pumas Girl’s were on fine form on Day 2 of the Futures Cup, with both their U16s and U18s recording victories over the Saxon Tigers.

The U18s started the day with a 3-1 victory, which was followed by arguably the most exciting game of the tournament so far as the U16s were pegged back to 3-3 having been 3-0 up. However, a goal in the dying seconds saw them run out 4-3 winners.

In the Boys, Tigers exacted revenge on the Pumas as they won both of their matches, with the U18s winning 4-2 and U16s 8-1.

The Mercia Lynx enjoyed another good day, winning three out of their four matches against the Wessex Leopards. The U18 girls sit top of their league with two wins from two, with the U16 Girls also top on goal difference.

We are all set for an exciting final day in the U16 competition. In the Girls, technically all teams are still in with a shot of winning the competition, with Lynx and Pumas in the driving seat, sitting joint top of the table. In the Boys, Tigers take on Lynx in a winner takes all final match. With both boasting a 100% record, Tigers are in a better position only requiring a draw, whereas Lynx need the win to top the table.
