Leicester Ladies Hockey to Host European Trophy June 2014

Leicester Ladies 450x

Leicester Ladies Hockey has been confirmed as the host for the Womens European Club Trophy 2014 to be held at the beginning of June 2014. The event will run from the 6-9 June and will feature teams from Belgium, Ireland, Spain, Belarus, Russia and Ukraine as well as England's Leicester Ladies.

The event will run at Leicester Grammar School for its duration and the city will play host to players from the top European hockey clubs. A project team has been set up to organise the event, with volunteers and project managers from the club working alongside Leicester Grammar, their partners and their sponsors.

Coming very swiftly on the back of the recent news that Leicester Ladies has been nominated to receive the freedom of the City of Leicester, this event presents a unique opportunity for the Leicester public to see some top class hockey in the city and find out more about the sport and their local club. This will also be the first time the Leicester Ladies play this level of European hockey in front of a home crowd in their club's long history.

The club is appealing for new business partners who would be interested in supporting this event - especially in the areas of transport, seating and temporary stands, pa/entertainment systems and small catering/snack outlets. They would also like to speak to schools in the area who would be interested in running a school trip to watch some top class hockey in their home town.

More details for the event schedule, tickets, and facilities on site will be available via the Leicester Ladies website early in the new year. For further information please contact info@leicesterhc.co.uk or call Sarah Treanor, Club President on 0781 6855506.
