NOW: Pensions Men's Masters O40's Trophy Final - Henley Celebrate

Henley were the first winners of the day, narrowly getting the better of Stockton in a seven goal thriller in the NOW: Pensions Men’s Trophy Final. Henley lead at the break and and went 3-1 up moments into the second half. However, a Gary Ferguson double levelled things up before Tony Gaze got what turned out to be the winning stroke from the penalty spot. Stockton pushed hard for another leveller but couldn’t get through the stern Henley defence.

Iceni Rex Essex came from behind to beat Kent 5-1 in the Men’s Masters Over 60s Plate Final. Graham Brown had put his Kent side ahead from a Penalty Corner, but the Essex side came back strong and lead at the break. Three more goals were added in the second half, which included a second for Tim Smith as Iceni Rex Essex cruised to victory.

Brooklands MU claimed their second piece of silverware of the weekend, adding the NOW: Pensions Men’s Over 40s Cup to the Men’s Second XI Plate they won the day before. And with their Men’s First XI losing out to Cannock in the Cup Final the day before, Brooklands got sweet revenge by winning the Masters Over 40s Cup 2-1. Mark Fullerton was the hero with two goals, with a Chris Roberts Cannock goal ten minutes from time not quite enough to get back in the game.

Indian Gymkhana added yet another trophy to their Masters collection by taking the first ever Men’s Masters Over 60s Cup. After a goalless first half, Indian Gymkhana sprung to life second half, with Santa Bansal scoring a brace in a five goal rout. Greg Hutchins with the goal for Surrey.

Ben Rhydding won their first ever Trophy at the Over 50s age group, securing the NOW: Pensions Men’s Masters Over 50s Cup with a 2-0 victory over  2012 finalists Harleston Magpies. A goal in each half from David Cutter was enough to take the Cup.

Alderley Edge got the better of Havering in the Men’s Masters Over 40s Shield Final with a goal in each half. Neil Hanley and Ben Hodkinson with the goals.

The final match of the day saw Tunbridge Wells finally getting their hands on the NOW: Pensions Men’s Masters Over 50s Trophy, defeating Shrewsbury in the final. Shrewsbury’s Kevin Coleman had cancelled out an early Alan Irvine strike, but from then on it was all Tunbridge Wells. A brace either side of half time for Andy Wood and goals from Alan Nicholson and Adrian Schweitzer were enough for Tunbridge Wells.
