Still time to enter England Hockey’s Masters knockout competitions.

The deadline for England Hockey’s Masters knockout competitions is 15 September, so there is still time to enter your club into one or more of the competitions.

Competitions are run for Men’s teams in the over 40s, Over 50s and Over 60s age groups and for Women’s teams at Over 35s and Over 45s.

This season the player age regulations have been brought into line with international masters hockey. So to be eligible to play in the relevant competition a player has to reach the age group during the year of the finals. For example in this season’s Women’s Over 35s Cup a player must reach the age of 35 in 2015 to be eligible. This is a change from players having to reach the age on 1 September prior to the competition. By widening the pool of players available we hope that the competitions, which are already well supported, will attract even more entrants.

The different levels of competitions are as below. The finals of all of the competitions will be held at hockey’s Olympic legacy venue, Lee Valley Hockey & Tennis Centre, on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

These competitions are a great way to renew old rivalries and make new ones. They also give senior players, who might play for different teams in a club on a Saturday the chance to come together to play on a Sunday. They also offer an opportunity to attract older players who may no longer play regularly back into the club fold.

For details of how to apply see the competitions entry page here.
