Surbiton held on to second spot in the table after a goal in each half was enough to record a 2-0 victory over Hampstead and Westminster.

Matt Daly opened the scoring from a penalty corner on 18 minutes and then Dave Beckett wrapped up the points six minutes from end, making it 2-0.

Cannock took their second win of the season with a 2-1 defeat of struggling Canterbury. Nick Bandurak and Hardeep Jawanda gave them a 2-0 lead and although Kwan Browne pulled one back for Canterbury in the final minute, it was too little, too late.

The match between Wimbledon and Reading was abandoned with the score at two-nil to Reading, after the floodlights failed just as Wimbledon were preparing for a penalty corner.

Tom Carson and Richard Mantell scored Reading’s first half goals, but it remains up to the league committee whether the result will stand.
