East Grinstead in Europe

Niall Stott in action during the Hockey 5s 2015

Having won their seventh consecutive Hockey 5s title just 3 weeks ago, East Grinstead now turn their attentions to the EuroHockey Indoor Club Champions Cup.

They will face competition from HTC Uhlenhorst Mulheim, C.H. SPV Complutense and HC Rotweiss Wettingen in what looks to be a tough group, with the top two progressing to the semi-finals.

The majority of the squad from the group that triumphed in the Hockey 5s finals have travelled and Coach Scott Ashdown knows his group is determined to compete for silverware:
"Having missed out on challenging for a medal by a whisker last year, the squad are more determined than ever to seize the opportunity and be the first English club to medal in the EuroHockey Indoor Club Champions Cup division.”

“Glenn Kirkham, Mark Pearn and Niall Stott bring a wealth of both international and indoor hockey experience to the squad having formed the backbone of the team for a large part of the last decade. The squad is bolstered by the recent additions of Andy Bull, Chris Griffiths, Patrick Smith & David Condon, all of whom are currently in the senior England & GB programme.”
