Those selected include a forward who brought up a club milestone, two remarkable injury comebacks and a fairytale senior debut.

TOTW Week 9

Name: Nick Bull
Club: Haslemere HC
Nomination: Nick inspired his team to a fourth consecutive win with a performance that saw him named ‘Player of the Match’ after making several key saves, including a treble. And all that came after he celebrated his son Archie’s second birthday. A pretty perfect weekend!


Name: Tom Marmoy
Club: Duchy HC
Nomination: In the same game that team-mate Lee Selby scored a hat-trick, Tom was named ‘Player of the Match’ for the third successive game after ‘absolutely bossing the show!’

Name: Vicky Clift
Club: Timperley HC
Nomination: Having found themselves without a goalkeeper just 30 minutes before pushback, Vicky put in a monumental shift to ensure Timperley  Ladies 2s came away with a 2-2 draw against Bolton.

Name: Jacob Fraser
Club: March Town HC 
Nomination: Jacob had the perfect all-round game this weekend as he produced a number of superb tackles, strung together numerous crucial passes and even grabbed himself a goal from a short corner.


Name: Ross Bebington
Club: Neston HC
Nomination: Ross made his return from a serious knee injury this weekend – one which he said led to him coming ‘so close to retirement’ – to put in a ‘Player of the Match’ performance during a 4-1 win.

Name: Andy Walker
Club: Stockport Bramhall HC
Nomination: Having been ‘struggling for goals this season’, Andy scored his second consecutive hat-trick this weekend to help his side move away from the relegation zone. Not a bad return to form!

Name: Emily Maguire
Club: Hampstead & Westminster HC
Nomination: Two goals from the London 2012 bronze medallist handed her side a 2-1 win over Sevenoaks and ensured they maintained their 100% start to the season, a record only equalled by Beeston L1s across the National Leagues.


Name: Bethan Hodges
Club: Upminster HC
Nomination: 13-year-old Bethan made a spectacular start to her adult career this weekend by scoring eight – yes, eight – goals on her senior debut. Wow!

Name: Sophie Brown
Club: Kings Heath HC
Nomination: Sophie brought up an impressive milestone as her four goals for Kings Heath took her tally for this season up to 15 and her total number for the club past 150. Congratulations Sophie – here’s to the next 150!

Name: Phil Ball
Club: Wimbledon HC
Nomination: Wimbledon were unstoppable this weekend as they strolled to a 7-0 victory over Sevenoaks. Phil Ball was the pick of the players, grabbing four superb goals to give his team a fourth straight win.

Name: Lois Mackey
Club: Marton Furness HC
Nomination: Having had major spinal surgery not so long ago, Lois put in an ‘absolutely outstanding’ performance in her first game for Marton Furness 1s. Fantastic news to hear you are back playing again Lois!
