Owsley named Sentinel Homes Best Junior Player

Owsley v China HWL F 2017
Lily Owsley was named the Best Junior Player at the Sentinel Homes Hockey World League Final after a superb tournament in which she caught the eye throughout.

Despite England narrowly missing out on a bronze medal to Korea, the 22-year-old midfielder was deservedly given the prize after being the standout player for her side in every game they played.

Time and time again Owsley was the driving force behind England’s most threatening attacks, carving paths through the opposition with her electric pace and superb ball control.

She also put in a number of crucial tackles and blocks from penalty corners along the way to add another individual accolade to her collection after being named the FIH Rising Star of 2015.

The news certainly went down well with her team-mates, with many taking to social media to congratulate the University of Birmingham midfielder on her award.
