Team of the Week

Nominations from clubs up and down the country have been coming in yet again, thank you for all your Team of the Week suggestions!

Those selected include two teenagers making a big impression as well as players making long journeys to turn out for their teams!

Name: Zooey Perry
Club: Middlesex University
Nomination: Zooey made countless ‘epic’ saves for her side as the team battled with only nine players, three of which who had never played before, to lose just 2-0. 


Name: Ella Garner
Club: Middlesex University
Nomination: Ella put in an ‘absolute shift’ at centre back as Middlesex battled to with just nine players away from home to Reading, only losing 2-0!

Name: Sue Harwood
Club: Havering HC
Nomination: Tea captain Sue scored a second half hat trick of penalty corners to help bring her side back to draw 3-3 with Basildon!

Name: Kathryn Lane
Club: Leicester
Nomination: Kathryn put in a solid defensive display for Leicester at the Jaffa Super 6s indoor finals at the Copper Box Arena to help her side to the final, also getting on the score sheet.


Name: Harry Wilford
Club: Harborough HC
Nomination: 13-year-old Harry made his debut for Harborough Men’s 2nd XI on Saturday and managed to get on the scoresheet as well! Well done Harry!

Name: Michael Boyle
Club: St Ives
Nomination: Michael dominated for his side with her pace and skill down the right hand side for the entire 70 minutes! A performance worthy of his man of the match award as they ran out 6-0 winners.

Name: Phil Robinson
Club: Cambridge City
Nomination: Midfield hero Phil stepped in to ensure the 5th XI had 11 players making the 180 mile round trip to Skegness and putting in a brilliant performance to help them to a 1-0 win.


Name: Poppy Rosen-Nash
Club: Croydon & Old Whits
Nomination: Scored twice and covered the whole pitch seeming to be everywhere! She has had a tough season in front of goal she was rewarded for her hard work and dedication.

Name: Anna Cooper
Club: Old Southendian Hockey Club
Nomination: Anna helped her side secure a win against their toughest rivals by scoring the decider on the reverse to net a goal in the top right corner. She then followed this up by scoring a hat trick on Sunday. At the age of 14 she plays with ladies who are older and more experienced but is an asset to the team, consistently reliable and always delivers when under pressure.

Name: Sarah Perks
Club: Marlow HC
Nomination: Sarah led by example, scoring 4 goals in a 5-0 win in a top of the table clash against local rivals Maidenhead!

Name: Phillip Hudson
Club: Upminster Hockey Club
Nomination: Phillip left the Alps at 3am on Saturday morning before landing into Gatwick at 11am. He made the 3.30pm push back at Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre scoring six goals in the second half in their win!
